Thank you Shannon. The qb & receiver "duo" is whats great, not just one or the other. It isn't a coincidence that the two highest receiving yards seasons in nfl history by Calvin and now by Kupp both involved Matt Stafford as quarterback. A great passer makes a great receiver even better and vice versa.

I already knew Skip had this segment lined up so he could trash Odel cause he was wrong about Baker.
OBJ got scapegoated due to Bakers tunnel vision. At the beginning Baker was trying to force bad throws at excess to Odell. When OBJ got injured Baker looked better because he couldn't force feed Beckham all the time. The issue is Baker didn't know how to integrate OBJ into the offense and things quickly fell apart because of it.
The only difference is he's on a team and has a QB that knows how to utilize him properly.
Baker is wildly inaccurate and inconsistent when throwing beyond 10 yards, that is the extent of the issue with integrating OBJ into the offense
When there is video proof, of Odell on the browns being WIDE OPEN on many, many, many, many, too many to count plays.. and not even being LOOKED AT.. how do you still defend the QB? Baker has done nothing his career .. The man had Landry, Odell, Chubb as his offensive weapons at one point and people acting like he didn't have enough. He just isn't a good qb, he is an average QB, simple. Stop putting expectations on him.. he will never meet them and let you down. He is who he is, and when people accept that, then his image will turn around.

My exact argument is the same as Shannon and other Browns fans want to plant their flag with Baker. The guy we saw in 2018 is not the same guy today. He used to step up in pressure. 2019 broke him. They seem to think he had nothing around him and just draft and sign some wrs this year and everything will be okay. As if the organization didn't go out of their way to solidify the offensive line (3 all pros), multiple tes, 2 all pro caliber running backs, pro bowl caliber wrs. There are qbs in the league doing more with less talent. Wish Baker well, but this isn't some draft a wr plug and play fix. It would help but he needs mechanics and footwork, and film study. Too many variables to overcome.

This story is an example of “National mainstream media” (reporting hot takes and half truths) vs Local reporting. If you actually follow Cleveland local media after the Browns playoff run the National media was trying to report that Odell was an issue. Basically Odell blamed Baker for that even though Baker never said anything bad about him. Odell arrived to camp sandbagging practices this past year because he wanted out. He actually cut routes and ran wrong routes regularly (was reported by local media). The point is Odell wanted out and wasn’t trying most of the year in Cleveland however Baker certainly needs to get healthy and play better it’s do or die for him.
Did that make Baker throw it over WRs heads? Did that make Baker throw it in the dirty at WRs feet? Did that make Baker throw it to the other team? No, no, no. That was Baker. Was Odell a problem? Ok I might give you that. But Baker is THE problem in Cleveland. You give Brady that roster you win the SB. You give Rogers the roster you win the SB. You give Baker than roster you win about 6 games. Baker is the problem. Not the Roster.
